Strategies for Increasing Your Cricut Usage.

If every time I wanted to use the Cricut I had to pull it out, hook it up to my computer, figure out what carts and/or cuts I wanted to use, design my cuts and then cut them out.....I would NEVER, EVER use the Cricut.

There MUST be a better way.

After starting to scrapbook again I really wanted to start using the Cricut again.  I have so many cartridges with so many cuts I could be using, but the task seemed so daunting.  I don't have the time for complicated crafting. :)

After some fits and starts I found a way to use the Cricut on every page/project I create.  Yes, you heard me right....I am now using it everyday. I spent one weekend creating a set of generic cuts using Cricut Craft Room. Generic cuts like labels, arrows, frames, flowers, hearts and stars.....cuts that can be used on almost any project. Watch the video below to learn more.

After cutting out flowers, arrows, frames, labels and more, I am now using those cuts on most of my pages.  They work perfectly with my new obsession with pocket scrapbooking.  After using the cuts for awhile I can already see I need more borders and I would like to create a set of cuts for words and holidays.  I can't believe it took me so long to come up with a solution.:)

You can download my cut file here.  Once it is saved on your computer, just open up Cricut Craft Room and import it into the software.  Or spend a few hours creating your own cut file.  It is totally worth the effort.

Please Note: If you are having problems downloading the file please contact me, jeriparks.mcc@gmail.com, and I will email it to you.

Happy Crafting,
Jeri Parks

  2. I love this idea! I have the first three Close to My Heart Cricut cartridges, which include just about every cut I can imagine ever needing. I've already started making cuts from white cardstock that match some of the stamps that coordinate with the cuts, but I've only begun to scratch the surface.

Do you know if your cut file will work in Cricut Design Space? While I have the Expression, I have been using the Explore exclusively since I got it. But I don't use it often enough! That's why I love your idea.

    1. Hi,

It is a .ccr file, so I believe it will only work with Cricut Craft Room. The CTMH carts would be great for this project.
