Misting Sprays:Maybe a Story of Like?

I remember when Tattered Angels came out with Glimmer Mist.  Everyone loved them and then everyone hated them due to spray bottle problems.  Then came the fixes for the problems.  I sat on the sidelines, not sure if I wanted to venture into the world of misting sprays.

I did finally venture in with 3 bottles of Glimmer Mist and I used them sporadically.  I wanted to love them...I really did.  But alas, they were not my favorite product to work with.  I got seriously tired of cleaning out the pumps.  UGGGGGG!  I so wanted to love you misting sprays, but I felt jilted.

Finally, I transferred my Glimmer Mists to Mini Misters and I thought I might have a change of heart.  Still it was not a match made in heaven.  Enter our product challenge....misting sprays.  I knew it was time to face my misting sprays challenges.  It was time to dig deep and see if I could repair this relationship.

Challenge: Misting Sprays
Results: 4 of July Scrapbook Layout
Before I started on my project this week, I did a lot of research on how to best use misting sprays.  I also indulged in some new Prima Color Bloom misting sprays in various colors.  I was intrigued by their new bottle design.  I am often amazed at how much better I feel about a product/supply/technique once I spend some time really learning and understand them.  That is how I fall in love with my supplies.

Supplies:  Misting Sprays (Color Bloom/ Cobolt & Storm Cloud and Cranberry/Homemade), stencil (Heidi Swapp), pattern paper (Fancy Pants/Rusted Sun), gesso, white paint, black pen, star dies (Sizzix), stamps (Club Scrap and Papertrey Ink), brads, sewing machine, photo corners, twill trim, card stock, tag, embossing ink and powder, ink and journaling card.

Final Thoughts: I feel like I can say I now 'like' misting sprays.  Not sure if I can say love.  I will still reach for ink as my go to coloring tool.  But I will definitely reach for them on a more regular basis.  I do like the new spray bottles from Prima, unfortunately I have two that are not working properly.  We will see if I can get them fixed before I make my final assessment.  I really love the colors available.   Overall I give them a thumbs up.

Want to know what I did and how I did it, then be sure to sign up for our newsletter.  On Monday I will be sending out my process video.  I will talk about the new Color Bloom misting sprays and using gesso with your misting sprays.  Newsletter Signup.

  1. Thanks for this post. I was in the same boat. It was definitely a love hate relationship. I'm going to try to use them again. Thanks for the inspiration.
