Nov 3rd 4 Product Challenge: Embossing Folders

Hi Crafters, Shirley Pando here!

It's Monday and time for another challenge.  It's time to FALL BACK in love with your embossing folders. Get it?...Fall back? (For those of you viewing this at a later date, this past weekend was Daylight Savings.)

The Challenge: Embossing folders.

Do you have any embossing folders? I have more than I thought as I rustled through them for this challenge. I do love them but don't use them as often as I need to, so this challenge will be  just perfect for me.

This week for the 4 Product Challenge I will be using:

Yes, I will use my Cuttlebug, but I don't count that as one of the products...it's a tool, right?  ;-)

The Projects
With my chosen supplies I will be creating an embellishment for a card. As long as I have the embossing folders out I might as well create a bit more with them, right? I will also create a few cards this week. Maybe with a Christmas theme. Did you realize it was November already? Yikes!

The project photos will be posted to the blog this Friday, 11/07/2014. I hope you'll join me for the challenge. If you don't have all or any of these products, don't worry. Choose four that you do have and create with them. If one is an embossing folder you get extra points! ;-)

NOTE: If you want to be able to see the process video of how I create these projects, make sure to sign up for our newsletter, here. It's the only place you can see it!  The newsletter with my video will be sent out Monday, 11/10/2014.

So do you have a collection of embossing folders? How many? Which brand/type are your favorite? Tell me...I might need to get more! I really don't mind hoarding collecting tools. ;-)

Happy Crafting,
Shirley

  1. Hi Shirley, finally getting to read your blog after subscribing when you started it.
So at the risk of sounding totally addicted, I have 83 folders and a few more that I haven't catalogued yet and stored, as I purchased them at a Rubber Stampede Convention this past Saturday. The brands include Stampin' Up, Darice, Anna Griffin, Sizzex, Tim Holtz, and of course Cuttlebug. They range in size from the "standard" to 5x7 and my latest acquisition from a British magazine, is 5 3/4 x 5 3/4. To see how I've used it, visit my blog, www.froglillly.blogspot.com. From the moment I laid my eyes on ProvoCraft's Cuttlebug machine, it was love at first sight. I saw endless possibilities. Since they were so much less expensive than dies, I could indulge in my passion. And so I have.
I'll be subbing to your newsletter so I can see your challenge. Hope you have a blessed day.
P.S. I had dreaded the thought of actually counting them. My figure didn't include the "strip" size that I believe only Cuttlebug and recently Darice make. When I added them in, it came to 101. I think I need to stop now (GROAN!)

    1. Hello Erica,
I hear your groans!! In my eyes, tools are indispensable. You really can't craft correctly without the proper tools. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it! ;-)

  2. I just viewed your video and relayed I have two Heidi Swapp embossing folders that are ATC size. I don't have the foil, but I have a 60% Michaels' coupon handy, so I'll see If i can find any.Now I'm super excited to see what you've done.

  3. attempting to comment for the 3rd time...it just keeps disappearing... I have everything but the metal you suggest. for embossing metal I have always used aluminum duct tape so I figure I will use that. Can any type of card be created as I don't see how the Poker Face cards will work well for a Christmas card. Also, I do not see a linky list to post the entry to the challenge. Help!

    1. Hello Paula,
I'm so sorry you were having issues with the comment, but I"m glad you kept trying. I love comments! :-) Duct tape will work wonderfully with embossing folders. Definitely create whatever project you want. The goal is to use up our stuff. So however that works for you...that is fine.

I can't wait to see what you make. We will add the linky on Friday's post.:-)
      Shirley
