January 27th Blog Topic: Sizzix

Good Morning!

Let's do a quick recap.  If I have a love/hate relationship with the Cricut and an all out love affair with Spellbinders.  Where does that leave Sizzix?

I have a long term relationship with Sizzix.  I started collecting them the moment they came out.  I don't a lot of Sizzix dies....mostly I have the steel-rule dies and I would never give them up.  I love that they can cut so many different materials.  I still have some of the very 1st dies they came out with.

As many of you know, I often purge my stash and I can be very brutal about it.  I try to only keep what I truly love.  Over the years there are very few things that I have donated that I wish I had kept.  The exception is the original Sizzix fonts.  There were 3 different alphabets and they were all steel-rule dies.  I miss those.  Again, because they cut there so many materials so easily.

I am super excited about my projects this week.  Why?  Because I pulled out several dies that I have NEVER used before.  And that always makes me happy.

So what are you working on this week?  Have you ever 'donated' something you wished you had kept?

Thanks for stopping by,
Jeri'

  1. I don't own a lot of dies but I love the few steel rule dies that I own. Especially a flower one which I won from Sizzix. I love cutting flowers out of material that my Cameo can't handle like heavier fabric.

So far I have not donated something which I wished I had kept but I'm sure that day may come.

Can't wait to see what you create this week!

  2. I was pretty ruthless when I purged my patterned papers - I even broke up paper books and only kept those papers that called out to me. However, last fall I realized I had donated ALL of my fall holiday papers - yikes! However, I didn't buy more, I just used my stamps.

  3. I am just beginning to use my Sizzix for crafting - as a teacher, I've used steel rule dies for various things down through the years. I'm really excited about the stamp and die combinations, and will be using them in a piece I'm submitting to a magazine. What have I given away that I wish I'd kept - nothing I can remember because I keep everything!
