Online Cricut Workshop Series + Giveaway!!

Hi, I'm Shirley Pando, instructor at My Creative Classroom and part of the website support team. In fact, if you email the MCC help desk (support.mcc@gmail.com), I'm the person you'll hear back from. :-)

Do you own a Cricut machine? Maybe you are looking for more to do with it...or maybe it's gathering dust...gasp! Well, no more, I say. Come join me on a journey to discover what your Cricut machine can do for you. It's more than just little die cuts. :-)

For each of the next four months I will introduce another brand new online Cricut class.:
I call these mini classes, but if you  know me you know I don't do anything in a "mini" way. All my classes are packed to the gills, and these will be no different. A lesser price, sure, but no less info and projects. You just can't lose! :-)

The first class, "Cricut: Crafting with Stencils" begins January 27th. So how about a giveaway??!!

Students will create astenciled artist canvas, stenciled card backgrounds, and a stenciled fabric item of their choice. Take your crafting to a whole new level!

Students will learn about other stencil materials you can use with your Cricut and will
will receive nine CCR files to download and use in class projects. Use any Cricut machine and any cartridge you own. Students must have basic knowledge of their Cricut machine and the Cricut Craft Room (CCR).

  1. I use my Cricut a lot! Not in everything I do, but pretty close to it. I use it for scrapbooking, cards and paper gift items. I LOVE MY CRICUT! I never use it for stencils though LOL

  2. Well gotta say I haven't used mine as much as I should be. Life, it just gets in the way. But would love to start using it again so thanks for the opportunity to hopefully get back to it.

  3. I use my Cricut to make about 1/3 of the cards I make for Operation Write Home. I would love to use it more without having to buy every single cartridge!

  4. Since I now have a dedicated craft space, I use my Cricut all the time, pretty much on every layout. Love it!

  5. I use my cricut about once every two weeks. I have a very old one ....it is the small 6 x 12 sheet . I don't know anything about cricut craft room. Could I still do class and learn about stencil, even if my stuff is a little old and outdated. Either way I would love to be counted in for a chance at a free class

    1. Gabriella,
You can use any Cricut machine with the class. You'd just need to adjust things I might make at 12" x 12" to the size of your mat. But I can help you with that in the class. Definitely check out the Cricut Craft Room http://www.cricut.com/home/craftroom. You can do loads of things with it that you could never do with just the Cricut alone. There are tutorials on the site that will help you understand how to use it.

  6. I can't believe it! The timing is great! I sent a email to my sister asking for help with my Cricut. I bought it several years ago and have only used it once. I see all these dies out there and thought I might be able to make some using my Cricut, but I didn't know how. I love how this class "showed up" for me. I'm in! Of course, it would be even better if I won the free seat in class. Can't wait.

  7. I must say I don't use my cricut as often as I'd like...maybe once every few months. One of my resolutions this year is to get it out and cutting more often.

  8. I tend to use my Cricut just for special projects - Valentines, Christmas, Fall stuff. When I use it, it gets a lot of use but it is very intermittent. I would like to use it more on a regular basis.

  9. I use my die cut machine at least weekly and am always looking for new ideas.

  10. I honestly rarely use my cricut, but I think I'm still really trying to figure out how best to use it.

  11. Since I moved back to TX in 2012 I have not used my Cricut much. Such a shame too because I had been using it quite a bit before moving. But since packing up all my craft supplies things have gotten disorganized it is a big effort to do anything crafty. Boohoo. I have really been into mixed media and stenciling is fun to do in mixed media! I would love to take this course and dust off one of my cricuts.

  12. I love my Cricut but I need all the help that I can using it. I've had classes with Cara and have some of her Whispers. I love My Creative Classroom. Of all the training available, I find MCC and your instructors the best.

  13. I would like to use my Cricut more than I have so far. I try to make time for crafts but most times things get in the way. I have worked on my craft room and have organized my stuff (well almost) and would like to use up my stuff. I would love to take this course.

  14. I'd like to be able to use my Cricut to produce some things that come out of the Silhouette camp, but am stumped, really about how to use it past it's basic functions. So, haven't used it much, and need a reason to use it more ie, a Cricut class!

    Shine on!

  15. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to use our Cricuts, with guidance, in making stencils. My Cricut too has been collecting dust, but if given the chance this would be my first class here or with my Cricut ever. Just need that gentle push.

  16. Definitely do not use it as often as I should--only when I need something special that I don't have stamps for.

  17. Honestly. I have never used my Cricut- I'm scared! I do npt even know the basics, but have made this a New Years resolution!

  18. Hi Shirley,
I use my Cricut a minimum of once a month...whether making gift tags, vinyl monogram a gift, Christmas tags, etc. I 'LOVE' the CCR...when they say the possibilities are ENDLESS...BELIEVE IT! I like to think of things to do. Before my daughter graduated I would decorate the locker room for ALL sports. I was a member of Ms.Cara monthly Cricut club and I feel like I still don't know much about the Cricut or CCR...I'm always willing to learn. I would LOVE to take your class..and FREE (from winning would just be icing on the cake). I had the original Expression..got use to it and had the CE2 in the box for over a year before I got nerve to try it...I had to when my original E gave out AND it's the next BEST thing to sliced bread. Thanks for having these classes........

  19. OK, you caught me! I purchased my Cricut years ago from a private party with a bunch of accessories. I turned it on to make sure it worked and that was it! It has oodles of accessories just begging to be used! Would really love to win the class! Thanks for the great giveaway!

  20. I have a cricut mini, but I just got an expression for Christmas from my DH. I have not used it much just the basic get to know. I would really like to win the class, so I can do more with my expression. thanks for the giveaway!

  21. I have used my Cricut for a few things, mostly for card making. I have also used the Cricut Craft room to design my projects, but have never thought about what else i could be doing. I love making mixed media projects, such as canvases, and am always looking for stencils to work with. I would just love to take this class and see what i can do!!

  22. I had my Cricut as a gift. It won't fit in my craft room so I have to set it up on the dining room table. I tend to use it in fits and starts as I have so much trouble getting decent cuts. I use it with Craft Room as I couldn't cope with all the menus on the machine and knowing where to find things.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Alas, I do not use mine nearly as often as I should or could! I would love to utilize it more. I don't have much experience in the Craft Room yet, but do have my machine linked! :) This would be a great class as I love to use stencils in mixed media art.

  24. I rarely use my Cricut. Maybe once every couple months.

  25. I used the Cricut quite a bit in December using the Anna Griffin Winter Wonderland cartridge, but to be honest, I use my Sizzix eclips all the time because I like using .svg files and they are so easy to use. I want to use the Cricut more than I do. I have had three Cricut machines.. the original, which I gave to my daughter, the Expression, which I had to throw away because Cricut offers no means of fixing the housing for the blade holder, and the Expression 2 Anniv Edition which I bought while still being able to use the Expression. I love the product, just hate they don't allow use of .svg files anymore. Thanks for a chance to take your class for free. MCC is a great resource and the teachers I've had were very good.

  26. My love/hate affair began when I bought a "Baby Bug" with a "Printing Press" cartridge at a garage sale in 2008. Unsuccessfully tried to cut a shape when I got it home. Selling It to another unsuspecting crafter was my solution to my frustration. My second attempt was to buy a Cricut Expression in 2010. Last year I enrolled in "Exploring Cricut Craft Room" by Cara Miller and am now better at getting good results. But after six years as a Cricut owner I love/hate using it!

  27. I have to confess that I have not used my Cricut machine in the two years that I have been in Arizona. I now live in an apartment so it has been in the closet and out of site. I also have to put together an album for my son's wedding last summer. Time to get started. I have taken many of the classes here in the past.

  28. I have to say I have not used my cricut in about a year. I am rearranging my scrap area and I don't have a final home for it yet. I hope to use it in 2014 because I have some cartridges that I have not opened yet!!

Thanks for the chance to win a seat in your class!

  29. Shamefully, I haven't used Cricut since my son's wedding in July 2012. I do have to dust it off for another son that is getting married this June, as I have been asked to make a lot of things for them. So I need the practice!

thanks for a chance to enter the sweepstakes.

  30. I also don't use my Cricut Expression as often as I'd like but mostly because of some health issues that have come up recently. When I do get the chance to scrap or make cards I use it on most of my creations. Your class may be just the incentive I need to get moving again!!!

  31. I have both the mini and the Expression, but do not have access to the Cricut Craft Room. I am unable to get it set up on my computer and not having luck with their software support. I do have Design Studio and can use that to make my design and cuts.

  32. I haven't used my personal V1 Cricut for some time. It is stored in a far corner of my craft room. I love it, but the last time I used it right before Christmas, I was hooked up to the Cricut Craft Room and I was having many, many issues with the craft room. I don't know why!!! My cartridges would link! My images were not moving the way they should have. I was frustrated. So I finished that days project and put the machine away! I have used the E2 more recently because I am a Michael's Paper Ed instructor, and I've had to teach others how to use it. I don't like the E2 as much as the Expression. And I can't use the E2 with CCR because we don't have computer access at the store. But there is still a LOT I can do with the E2 that I can't with my baby Cricut!

  33. I don't have yet but plan on getting one within 2 or 3 mths. I would love to take your class and see how to some projects.

  34. Dorlene Durham if I had one I would use mind to make everything. Just can't wait to get one....

  35. Hi Shirley, I have to admit I use my Silhouette Cameo more than I use my Cricut, but I manage to use my Cricut maybe once every couple of weeks. I've already signed up for the class, but wouldn't mind winning it for free!! :)

  36. I LOVE my E2, but maybe that's because it was my first Cricut machine. I took Cara Miller's course and that saved me lots of frustration and showed me all kinds of things on my machine right out of the gate! Would love to learn more and since this year my crafting is a priority, this course would be a perfect fit for me. Would love to win!
