Topic #2: Spellbinders

Happy Monday Crafters!

This week's topic is.....Spellbinders!  If I have a love/hate relationship with my electronic die-cut machine, I have a full on love affair with Spellbinders.  Actually it is not just Spellbinders, but all low profile dies, including: Just Rite Stampers and Papertrey Ink.  I know there are others, but please DON'T tell me.  I do not need another addiction.  :)

I have nothing but good things to say about these dies.  I will say that keeping them organized over the years has been a bit of a challenge, but I have found a good solution that works for me.  I will be sharing that on Wednesday.

This week I will again be working on scrapbook pages and a ATC card for Project Inspiration.  And I am sure there will be a card or two.  I just cannot help myself.

Be sure to let me know if you love Spellbinders as much as me and what you are working on this week.
Thanks for stopping by,
Jeri'

  1. I love Spellbinders but only have two sets because they are so expensive. I often put them in my cart and then put them back because of that. I must admit that I have not used them that much lately. I need to find the tutorial where you use two of the dies at the same time. You emboss and then remove the smaller one and cut the larger one.

I just started on Valentine cards and made one with a file I created. I plan to use the same file as a stencil for a card and for another card to use pens to sketch in my Cameo. Perhaps I'll get out a Spellbinder die for the cards.

    1. They are expensive, but I rarely pay full price. I usually get mine for Joann.com. This site: http://www.flowerstoflourishes.com/ has daily deals including a lot of Spellbinders. In fact, they have one today. :)

  2. I love the dies too. But try hard not to create any more addictions for myself. Well the scrapbook page I was working on last week, didn't get finished (you know that thing called life, sometimes it can be a real stinker). And now it seems to have gotten turned into a canvas wall hanging. I'm almost finished and hopefully will get a layout done along with a few valentines.

  3. I love Spellbinder dies! I broke a bone in my foot Friday and can't access my downstairs craft room. Trying to figure a way to go down on my rear end and use a rolling office chair to get around in. Did get my design team card posted before it happened.

  4. I don't have an electronic machine, but I do use a Big Shot and Cuttlebug and I love the thin dies, especially Memory box and Simon Says Stamp dies (sorry, I mentioned a couple more). They are so fun to work with and easy to do new things with. I tried a Silhouette and one point but didn't spend the time necessary to become proficient at it so gave it up. With the non-electric ones all you have to know is how to make the sandwich and Big Shot makes that EASY. LOVE die cuts! Sizzix-20%off all the time at Scrapbook.com and Dies are on sale constantly at Joanns, even Spellbinders.

  5. Hi, my name is Penny and I am a die-a-holic. I love Spellbinder's and many others and I too, especially love stamp/die combos - Lawn Fawn has some really cute ones. I have a Big Shot and an E-bosser, just about every project I make has a die involved. Looking forward to your storage post.

    1. I can see I am going to have to stay away from this post. So many new, new to me, companies to check out.

      I am doomed! :)

    2. I should add that I am a die-a-holic too. Last year I counted them....I will NEVER to that again. ;)

  7. I still love my Sizzix. Not that I have time to do anything, but I'm addicted. Need to join Scrapbookers Anonymous.

  8. Spellbinders dies are great. I am happy with how I have organized mine and I have lots but I am anxious to hear your suggestion.

  9. I do love Spellbinders dies as well as my Sizzix and a few others I have. As I don't have a lot of dies (with exception of Sizzix) mine are currently together in a photo box. My Sizzix dies are in alphabetical order in towers with few in a photo box as well. So far this works for me. I also have all my dies on spreadsheets for inventory purposes. Trying to keep from buying the same ones twice....lol.
